5460, driveshaft hates kelvin part 1
Posted by kelvinb1, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
so i got back from kcir, and the car kind of 'rumbling' and shaking alittle. i didnt know exactly what was wrong, so i didnt drive it after i got back home. today i started taking it apart and this is what i found.

first off the tcase seperated from the tranny fine, but from the driveshaft? no. i even hit i wih a hammer a few times and still will not seperate. it feels as if he splines are twisted together or something. i can turn the driveshaft and the the tcase splines spin also. so it has to be the splines i assume?

ALSO

i had the top front hole welded on the bellhousing since it broke off awhile ago. guess what happened again :(

this is my happy face wih the 'pro welding' i had done.

OUCH! When it rains, it pours, man.

Had to edit the title. Made no sense and totally unsearchable in the future. I'm sure you would like others to be able to find out how you fix this issue, right? ;)

A little more and you wouldn't have made it home from the track. You lucked out. Weird how you twisted the drive shaft before you snapped an axle or blew the tranny/TC.
Who's the girlie behind you? ;)

Sucks. I've been there. What I hate is when your fingers are so cold, you bash them up and don't even feel it. Then when they warm, you start noticing all the things that happened and they hurt like hell.
