i have a couple questions though. the little
contraption that i make i attach to the turbo inlet?
or to the hose on the turbo inlet? and if i use an air
compressor is that too much pressure to be putting in
it? i have no aftermarket parts, just a 1g bov with
flange for my 95 eclipse turbo.

It goes on the turbo inlet. Get someone to watch the boost gauge while you're testing so you don't over pressurize.

I would get a valve to adjust pressure on your compressor. You don't want to put 120psi to that thing.
But, yeah, pull intake off turbo, clamp the tester on and put some air to it.

i dont have a boost guage to watch...would it be better with a bicycle pump?

If you have any leaks, you'll be pumping like crazy and not have enough pressure to be able to hear where they are.
Get or borrow a gauge.

how do those boost guages work? they can only tell you the boost right? they cant regulate it. so unless i have some sort of regulator on the air tank how could a boost guage help

You would make another hole in your boost tester to mount the gauge. Then you can pressurize (depending on your set-up. I usually pressurize to 20 or 25lbs and watch for leakdown) and watch the gauge to see if you start losing pressure.
