4658, Replacing 1.8L with 2.0L n/t... Posted by honcal98rs, Aug-11-03 03:56 PM
My friend has a Laser with a 1.8L engine, but the engine went bad on her. Someone is selling her a 1g Eclipse N/T. They don't know if its 1.8 or 2.0. So, I was wondering can swap be done with out replacing the tranny? Her Laser has a 5-speed manual but the Eclipse is an automatic. TIA

yeah i don't know about the tranny. i know the 2.0 non-turbos have a smaller flywheel/pressure plate ass. than the turbo's but then again the 1.8 is a whole different block.
