4461, 1G vacuum lines question Posted by thedawg, Oct-15-03 06:46 AM
1) What is the large diameter nipple on the back of the 1G manifold supposed to attach to? It's the one about 2/3 to the driver side, maybe 3/8" diameter, angled downward towards the firewall.
2) What is the large diameter hose that comes out of the EVAP cansiter (labelled "TO A/C") supposed to go to? It's also about 3/8" but the hose doesn't quite reach to the back of the intake manifold^^ or air conditioner.
3) The "breather" (90 degree fitting on passenger side of valve cover) is supposed to be routed back down into the intake, correct?
This is all on a 1990 California turbo, I've scoured all the FSM's, chiltons, and haynes. :shrug

1) Brake Booster
2) Who cares? Rip that shit out :D (I really don't remember, I took that stuff out over a year ago)
3) Yes, but you can put a breather filter or catch can there as well.

Thanks. I have 25 days to pass California's Test-only Smog check II. (Toughest in US) x(
The previous owner properly neutered the entire smog system, I'm just trying to make it all look legal again.
