4274, question about electrical stuff
Posted by Diceman19, Nov-03-03 07:56 AM
i did the "running lights with your fog lights on" mod from vfaq and my driver headlight doesnt turn on anymore. i also noticed that the fog light switch and the headlight pop up switch do not light up when the running lights are on anymore. is that because i cut the power wire from the fog light switch. it was spliced into the power wire from the rheostat. help please. i need to get that light working. thanks!

there is no answer there. i also noticed on my test drive after changing the t-belt that those two switches werent lighting up, which made me lean back towards the wiring problem and not a blown lightbulb. the car was just sitting in the driveway so i dont know how it would have "just blown"...does anyone know or do i need to just splice the old power wire into the power wire that is there or completely undo the mod to see if it fixes it.(not my first choice because i will probly have to splice some wire in to make it all fit without fighting it.) like i said, the switches still work so they are getting power, they just dont light up and i have no driver headlight. thanks!

well, if both you guys got the same problem from doing the same mod by the same directions, I'd have to say that there is something wrong with the procedure. Make it stock again and find out how to do it from someone who has done it and has it working correctly.
Sorry, but I can't offer a fix cause I've never done it.

i just followed the mod on the site. i am the only one that i am referring to. i am assuming that the creator of the walkthrough had everything still work. it is on vfaq so i doubt that i am the only one besides the creator.
