There's a fairly easy 6-bolt swap walkthrough out there somewhere.
Otherwise, notch the top of the thrust bearing to allow direct oiling of the thrust surface, disable the clutch switch, disable the squirters (optional), *SEAT the main bearings* using prybars and the clutch, and if you use ARP main bolts (not worth it IMO), make sure to get your mains align bored.
Thats pretty much what I picked up when researching. My built 6 bolt hasn't walked yet ;) 5k on the rebuild.

Yes actually. The journals were not properly ground from the factory. Grind them all to the same spec and get properly sized bearings and it will be fine. There is a local guy here in MD that did this to a few engines and they have been perfect.
Or you can just swap a 6 bolt.

Buschur is running 11.6 on the stock motor and turbo. These cars are pretty sick :)

Jeff,
Was the guy in MD who did the grinding of the bearings actually in VA? I know at (hayes?) MItsubishi in northern VA (Alexandria?) there's a dude there who's pretty good with eclipses, but i'm curious as i'm right at 55k and putting on a 2600...kind of a just in case thing..
Vandy
I remember this from the overpriced GSX i *almost* bought from them, but AWD is NOT worth an additional 5k, and a 98 2g GSX w/50k is not worth 17,000, as much as I tried to convince them otherwise....
