I stopped by and looked at it today, Its in his front yard. Bodys in Great shape. Has some nice 5 spoke 15" rims on it (15's Ugh...)

Just talked to the guy selling it and he said the AC compressor was just changed but it needs freon, he'll charge it before it sells.

were going to look at it tomorrow, The GF has to get a loan for it so she doesnt have to go without a car (so she doesnt have to sell hers and go without till she gets another one) So it could be gone by the time she gets the loan... Hopefully itll be there, Gonna see if hell take a deposit to hold it if its ok.

to much for a 11 yr old n/a. I would prabably buy a honda.

ditto. the n/t's are worth less. ugly and gutless. just buy her a 4door 92 civic for $2k and it will last forever

you could get a TSI for that price. I sold my awd a/t tsi for $2500.

My girl drove my $500 1.8 n/t beater for a while. She hated it. Hard to see out of, hard to turn, no power. Like mentioned, for that amount of money, you should be looking at a honda or you could even get a 99-01 neon for that price.

With that amount of money, he should be getting a TURBO, ALL WHEEL DRIVE, DSM. period. end of story...

but if he is looking at a 1.8nt 1g anyway, why would he want to get a turbo. maybe if that is what he is looking for, but it doesnt sound like he is. if it were me and it was just a tool around car, i would probly buy a honda or a neon or something crappy. but i probly wouldnt be looking for a tool around car so i would be going turbo AWD. :thumbsup course, i already have a turbo AWD but i could always use another one so when one is down i could drive the other.

See, a "good car" to a guy is VERY different to a "good car" for a girl.

Guys want: Looks, power, respect, power.
Girls want: Kinda cute, gets me to class, doesn't ever need maintenance

There is no turbo or AWD vehicle on this planet that doesn't need maintenance. The longer she can go without opening the hood or visiting a mechanic, the better.

Its a 2.0, not the 1.8
I was kinda thinking it was high priced but if I can get him down to like 1900-2000 shell prolly get it

nice thing about getting the talon for her, repairs for you will be familiar!! I say get it :thumbsup

well just went to look at it, the bodys in great shape other than the giant chunk of Bondo hanging off the front drivers side fender :thumbsdown
and the fact that the auto tranny has obviously been pulled out :nono (Its got some funky bolts and lockwashers in the factory spots) and the tranny makes some humming noise. When it downshifts it almost slams into the lower gear. It upshifts fine while driving.
I think Im gonna pass on this one...
Ive had a 1GNT with a auto and the trans went out of it too. Im not sure if this ones been rebuilt or what. This guys only had it for like a month. He got it from a friend who owns a car dealership. The friend took it in as a trade for a truck and i guess he owed him money or something i didnt really catch how this guy got the car. But the title is still in the dealerships name.
Oh well, we'll keep lookin'
