Good Job! What kind of tires/wheels were you using (I'm gussing the same on your homepage)? I just got some nitto drag radials and have been dying to use them. I wish I could go to the track today but they are closed for the year..

yeah...some garbage wheels. I think with alittle better tire i cna get that 1.7 60' i am dying for.1.80 is my best 60' to date.

Congrats on the time. How are you tuning?

I only ask because your mods list says you should probably be in the 11's with 116 octane. I am sure you left a few mods out of the list, but I am assuming you have all the correct supporting mods for that turbo. (except you will need much larger injectors to get any real performance out of it.)

I ran 13.2 at 104 on the stock 14b at 18psi on pump gas with the only mods being an exhaust, boost controller, walbro 255 low pressure (the correct one), and an ACT 2600. Just curious.

That turbo can get you deep into the 12's without being tuned well and having a rough setup powering it. Something doesn't seem to be adding up here with that time because the 60' is pretty spot on for much better times.

How well tuned are you? Like Jeff mentioned, you'll need bigger injectors without a doubt. Are you breaking up anywhere? Do you have your logs/data on the run?

Congrats on the personal best but that turbo will get you so much farther than it is now if you can track down little issues in the tuning etc. That is a 10 second turbo with the right setup.

Keep getting to the track though. I want to see the slips improve every time :) :thumbsup

He is using DSMlink for his tuning. Plus he used Sunoco 116 gas instead of c16 race gas. Still, he is only running a SMIC rather than a FMIC @ 18psi. I'm guessing he is headsoaking his SMIC and he will do much better once he gets the FMIC put on.

Yes....I am running on a SMIC but all other mods are in tact. I use race gas to meake of for the lack of the FMIC which ables me to get the times i want...sort of like a trade off. I wanted to hit 12s on my SMIC but doesn't like like it will happen. I am using DSMLink to tune but the SMIC only allows so much room before i start getting some knock. I am sure once i get a FMIC, i will be deep into the 12s if not 11s. FMIC is coming over the winter break....but i want to dyno the car on this setup to see how much power i am making with my 2g SMIC.

Edit: Sunoco gas sux.....I will stick to VP c16 from now on.

Ah, SMIC. That explains alot. You need that FMIC.

Best of luck and let us know how it all progresses. You have the makings of a monster.

Wow not to try to bash you dude but something has got to be up, unless you have the worst tune in the world iuno what the problem is, i went 12.8 @ 104 on 100 octane, 19lbs b16g smic, detonating threw 3rd and 4th cuz of heat soak, 510's and a 2.5'' c-back, stock downpipe and o2, thats just crazy having such an awsome turbo running that time...you have any logs or anything ?

theehe ill make you feel worse, i ran the same mph's on my t25 @ 20psi except i ran a 13.8 (fwd wowooo)

uhh yeah on a 3052 you DEFINETLY need a front mount. i was about to suggest a supra smic but right now your just pushing hot air, the smic isnt even doing anything anymore

I said that already...lol. MPH will always be greater on a FWD vehicle.

I am willing to bet that you were/are running more effieciently on a SMIC on that turbo then i am at 18psi on this turbo. I am right on par with what i should have run with my mods. It wasn't the best tune in the world but they only gave me 3 runs. I am sure i would have broken 12s with about 3 more runs.

Your engine really does hate you right now though. You have been around long enough to know you should have all the supporting mods before trying to race with a turbo of that size. The stock 2g smic is heatsoaked by the T-25. I wouldn't even push it 3 more runs.

Well i was only getting .4 degrees of knock.....so it wasn't to bad for it. I tune to knock and timing....i know its kind of a hardcore mentality but i like to push things to its' limits.

Well you have reached the absolute limits of your SMIC. Being aggressive is great, but running that turbo on that SMIC is just asking for serious trouble. I would advise against running the car anymore until you get the FMIC. Being aggressive and being foolish are not that far apart from each other.

I was foolish two summers ago thinking everything would be fine if I just went out and tuned on the track. My FP failed because I was hoping it would work, not sure it would work and then my engine blew. It's a shitty lesson to learn and I'd like for you not to have to learn it. All it takes is one bad run on a overworked part to ring up several thousand dollars worth of repairs.

Good luck though. You have alot of the parts needed for great numbers but finish it all off and you'll see significant improvements right away.

at 18psi that turbo is still sleeping. When he gets the frount mount he can run alot more boost and thats when you will see the Real numbers.

congrats Rome. I look forward to running you in March.

Just judging by your 1/8th mile time compared to your 1/4 mile time, I knew you had a SMIC before I even scrolled down. At half track that baby is getting superheated. 8.4 in the 1/8th = alot less than 13.1 in the 1/4 mile. Get that FMIC and you should be deep deep in the 12's on pump gas.

he definatly does need a fmic,no doubt, but its winter time fellas, on a cold fall night, his location is up north, it was prob 30-50 degrees out side, would heat soak be a major problem, i dont think so, exspecially when he only got 3 runs, so he was probally sitting in line with his car off 90% of the time. im looking at the real picture here, look at his reaction time, on a .500 tree, this mofo was sleeping off the line! nonetheless, respectable time!

I ca show you the log at where i started heatsoaking.....I started off good but, by third gear the heatsoak was very bad...I ordered a FMic and it will be here in Wednesday. Will post pics when i get it.

Reaction time has absolutely nothing to do with E/T or trap speeds.

The stock 2g smic is even smaller than the 1g smic. It heatsoaks on the stock T-25. The turbo he has is capable of 10 second quarter mile times. He needs a FMIC regardless of the outside temperature. It could be -50 degrees and that intercooler would be a blazing hot mess.

reaction time has everything to do with e/t but nothing to do ith trap speeds., i cant beleive you said that jeff, :nono.
at the begining of the season this year, i was running 7.20s @ 108-110on my r1 in the 1/8th by the end of the season,i was running 6.80s @108-110. what changed? my reaction time, i went from being sleepy on the line to being someone that had a crack addition, waiting for the color to change.

i know he has a 10second turbo bro, as i hold the 9 second turbo on my desk right now, as a paper weight(fp3065). your right , he needs a fmic, but i was just taking into consideration the different variables that he has to play with versus, racing at night on a untunded, unfinished setup, versus racing in nevada in july on a 95 degree night. nonetheless faster than my car and definatly a respectanle untuned street car time.

R/T does not have anything to do with E/T (or trap speed for that matter). R/T measures how fast you get the car moving from the time the green light lights. The moment that car moves the R/T is no longer meaured and now the E/T begins. You could sit at a green on the amateur tree for 5 minutes, then click off a 10.8. Only in pro tree does R/T factor into E/T.

R/T = green light to car motion.
E/T = motion to 1/4 mile.

true, but down here, we have 1/8 tracks everywere which all of them host proline shootouts and run pro trees, shoulve asked, but i assumed he was on a protree, since most of them are.

i have a FMIC now.....lol. and around here r/t does not factor into e/t or trap speeds. I was tuned decently...i only got 3 runs in so it wasn't tuned to its potential but i had a pretty decent tune none the less. The main hinderances was the SMIC...that is pretty obvious....and my log proves it.
