Just to let you know, this questions has been asked many, many, many times (as have most beginner questions for that matter) Spend a few minutes searching and you can come up with a wealth of information. I'm not being a dick, but it's nice when people do the legwork on their own. It shows enthusiasm.

Those all have some of the info you'll need. Basically go to vfaq.com and read until your eyes bleed. Then you'll be ready to ask some more pointed questions and from there we can spread whatever info you need from us.
