what about 9:1 compression, isn't that kinda high for a turbo car

You know you can get those components separately for cheaper. Eagle rods are $350 and a nice set of 8.3:1 pistons are $400-$450 complete with pins, locks and rings.

And yes, 9:1 is high for a turbo car and would be very very finicky to drive daily.

Please for the love of god, everyone, don't buy your performance parts off of Ebay. There are so many DSM vendors that specialize in this stuff. Use them.

Nothing wrong with 9.1 daily if you know how to tune.
And no i would never buy piston or rods off ebay. Eagle rods have a bad history with dsms. Go on talk or tuners and do some research.

First, I've never, ever, heard of any problems with Eagle Rods. Ever.

Second, 9:1 is fine, but it will be a lot more finicky that 8.3:1 and much less forgiving to a novice tuner. Remy knows tuning well but the average DSM'er isn't a master tuner so I would advice against 9:1 for someone just getting into the modifying thing and anticipates daily driving the car. It would add another possible complication.

Third, STOP LOOKING AT EBAY FOR YOUR PARTS!!

Ok I was just looking on SBR and came across Scat connecting rods, I've never heard of Scat before so I'm just kind of curious how good they are. Does anybody know? Thanks again.

Searching for "vendor" in the 1g section would lead you to this in the second thread. It has been posted three or four times in the last 18 months.

"I love SBR, and RRE for parts. They are cheap and have great service. MachV, Extreme Motorsports and Buschur are super expensive relative to their competitiors and of those three, Buschur makes the best parts to buy (MachV and Extreme just buy Buschur parts and resell them).

"Good vendors who have specialized in DSMs for some time, or are current great people to do business with:

-Road Race Engineering (www.roadraceengineering.com)
-Buschur Racing (www.buschurracing.com)
-Slowboy Racing (www.slowboyracing.com)
-AGP Turbo (www.agpturbo.com)
-Forced Performance (www.forcedperformance.net)
-Mach V (www.machv.com)
-Pruven Performance (www.pruvenperformance.com)
-Extreme Motorsports (www.extrememotorsports.com)
-Conicelli Mitsubishi (www.partznet.com - the only place to get anything OEM) now it is www.jnztuning.com. Conicelli went under and has been replaced by JNZ)

Other good places to get parts:

-Victory Performance (www.victoryperformance.net)
-Alamo Motorsports (www.alamomotorsports.com)
-Eagle Automotive Warehouse (www.eagleautomotivewarehouse.com - actually another great OEM place for specialty stuff)
-Dejon Tool (www.dejontool.com)
-Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com)
-Diamond Star Specialties (www.diamondstarspecialties.com)

Check these places out first to price compare, and also as good places to just see what they written down in terms of tech articles and stuff. If I think of more, I'll post more."

Scat rods are great, but just stick with Eagle. Eagle is tried and true down the line, so I'd go with them every time if I had to choose between the two.

Piston choice is a different matter because there is more debate on the best pistons available for a 4g. I'd research that until your eyes bleed before making your decision. I recently rebuilt my engine with forged internals, and spent A LOT of time researching before making my final decision based on what I wanted my car to do.
