im about to cut into this thick ass metal front bumper support to fit the fmic in. im wondering if its worth me just discarding this huge heavy metal thing instead of trying to hack it up?

what did you guys do?

It saved my FMIC. Keep it.

holy crap!! haha ok. i kept it on my 2g, even though it was plastic and a bit lighter.

think a pneumatic cutting wheel will get through it? what did you use?

Plasma Cutter. :) I don't think the cutting wheel will work. Even a Saws-All will have problems with that thing.

I had a local industrial truck shop do it. $20 and it took them 10 minutes with their super plasma cutter. Keep the reinforcement though. Look for a place that does heavy truck repair.

Well on the 90-91's you can't just ditch the support, that big ass metal bumper is what the bumper cover itself bolts to, on the 92-94's can junk it and still have something to bolt the bumper too, i just cut the insides out with a cutting torch and a saw-zall

That was pretty much the only way we could route it without loosing the ac. I think Luke is planning on redoing it this summer.

Theres at least 2 ways to route it and keep your a/c, that crazy way its done in the picture, or run the pipes how the dejon kit does, which is exactly how i did it, kept my a/c,fm oil cooler, and ps loop.
