13121, timing alignment problem
Posted by unclejay03, May-24-09 12:17 AM
i have a 95 talon 4g63 turbo, i had the head rebuilt at local machine shop. we reassembled everything and now we cant get all the timing marks lined up. if i set #1 at tdc i can get the balance shaft and oil pomp lined up fine but when i try to line up the cams per fsm i get interference on #4 valves to piston. could have the machine shop installed the cams flip floped or am i doing something wrong?

any help will be appreciated

Did they/you bleed the lifters?
If not they may not be letting the valves close all the way and causing them to hit the top of the piston.

Check out this link, go about halfway down where it says "Priming/Draining Lash Adjusters"

If the head is already torqued down onto the headgasket you can just remove the cams to do this so you dont have to buy another headgasket too.

No, they can't install the cam wrong. The intake and exhuast cams are specific so they wouldn't even fit in right. So you're saying everything lines up but you've got interference??
