Well, I just finished installing one in my friends 97 GS-T. All went well as far as the install goes. It powered up fine and all the sensors and functions worked on the AFC. But, the car is running like shit. I have it set up right: Karmen sensor, 4 cylinder arrow upper right. He is still on stock injectors. The car runs fine for about 45sec after we reset the battery, then the rpm's start to drop down to the 500rpm range and it wants to stall. When I give it light throttle to bring rpm's up a bit, the car makes a whoosh/hiss sound through the intake. I'm pretty sure it's the BOV venting, because the car starts to come out of vaccum then when it makes the noise, vaccum drops. I've triple checked all my connections, and they are all good. What the hell is going on here?? Any ideas would be appreciated.....thanks guys.

Did you solder the connections? And did you tape each one separarely after? (just checking).

I know you said it already, but make sure it is set on karman, 4cyl, with the arrow pointing up. Also double check to make sure the wires are hooked up to the correct wires. Only so many things can go wrong when installing an SAFC.

Disconnect the safc to make sure the safc is the problem. I went threw that thinking it was my afc and the problem had nothing to do with it.


Edit: Not all dsm's suck, just mine :)

Try reseting the ecu again. After you do don't turn the car on right away, but leave it on Acc. (one click short of the engine turning over) for a few seconds, then fire it up. Maybe the ECU didn't get all the new stuff. The orginal SAFC had a similar issue so maybe it carries over a bit.
