11685, Went to the dyno, questions Posted by PowerEclipses, Mar-01-04 04:32 AM
I went to the dyno with my friend that has a stock GSX, he got 163 to the wheels, and i got 206. Do you guys think that sounds about right? He said it should be around 270 to the flywheel around there. I have a 3 inch downpipe, 3 inch catback, Griffen FMIC, SAFC2 dyno tuned, walboro255 high pressure fuelpump, intake, intercooler piping, boost set at 15 psi on stock turbo, and a fidenza flywheel. Just lookin for some feedback I guess haha.

What dyno? Yeah 206 is about right for a T-25, but 270 to the crank is pushing it.

163 seems really low for some reason...

11688, RE: Went to the dyno, questions Posted by Jeff_99gs, Mar-01-04 06:08 AM
Using the above logic, if he got 163 to the wheels on a car that has 210hp to the crank, 206hp to the wheels would be 253hp to the crank. Not quite 270, but close!

LOL
Um...No,
HIS logic is wrong
that's not how it works,
With WHP and CHP the readings are based off a percentage to each other
so 163/210=1.29X163 which means that there is an approximate 29% loss of power to the wheels (really it could be anything poor vehile VE inefficient turbo ambient temp etc), the loss happens to equal 47 HP...
...that means that 1.29X206=265 so he was close

haha Ouch, thanks guys! I need to upgrade some more things before I go a bigger turbo, Injectors, I found this really cool downpipe I am going to buy. So I am going to sell my Apexi N1 downpipe. I am also going to buy some bigger brakes. :D

BTW stock 4G-63 are anywhere between 165-175 bone stock

hmm if they're 165-175 bone stock i wonder what i'm at now with the basic bolt ons....car def. feels faster than 175+, but who knows...
|
11695, RE: Went to the dyno, questions Posted by chrysler kid, Mar-01-04 11:42 AM
mine dyno'd at 208whp and 219tq with just the basic bolt ons and without a boost controller. i have raced a 1995 bone stock gst with 115k miles and he was pushing was more than 163whp. stock he should be atleast at 180 or more. maybe he is crankwalkin or has other problems
was it an awd dyo or did they disconnet the drive shaft and took you fwd. 200 awdhp would be more at the crank than just fwdhp

That is why I asked what kind of dyno it was. It takes more than just disconnecting the driveshaft to make an AWD car FWD though.
And for the above logic I posted earlier, I was just screwing around. I've never been on a dyno before and don't plan on it. I tune on the street like any good AWD DSMer should :P

Hey VANDY420a, For the record, your missing some of the quote in your sig. It's supposed to be: "IF YOU CAN'T dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit"

Yeah, it was a dynojet AWD dyno. There where some other 4gs there my buddy who is a moderator for DSMTalk.com Eric, put down 330 or 340 at the wheels. He has a Green turbo. :)I think its a 96 Talon AWD

11702, RE: Went to the dyno, questions Posted by PowerEclipses, Mar-02-04 02:56 AM
Sorry to say there Remy, But you will be pissed because he has a fully rebuilt head with 1mm oversized valves, HKS cams, 1g intake manifold with ported and polished head. He was having problems with his internal wastegate, yes internal, dont ask me why either lol but he is waiting for his external. There was this guy 91TSIGuy( from dsmtalk and PhiladelphiaDSM.com)who dynoed 421 HP at the wheels, he almost had the most HP for the day. only 2 HP that the guy who owns Rapid perfomance, the first 9 second LS1 all motor. The dyno was from xoticmotor sports. Maybe you have heard of them They are West of philly.

Thats cool you went and dyno. But with a T25 turbo its pretty point less. The turbo no matter what you do unless you have nitrous is going to make 250hp at the wheels or a bit more. And with a FMIC on a T25 your actually going slower b/c its just too damn for the T25 to push air through.
And Remy you think your going to get +350hp? Do you already have all the supporting mods? Wow, nice! What kind of intake manifold do you have. That will help a ton having an aftermarket int. manifold. Also what kind of afpr are you using. I am thinking of just getting a Weapon R, since its pretty cheap and works from what I've heard.
I am hopin to make 300hp at the crank with a Evo16g here in the summer. Prolly will dyno at the shootout.

There is a big diff btwn 206 whp and 250 whp...but yeah that's what I thought about the FMIC too..

Man, AWD dynos are springing up all over the place. For years and years there were only 2 in the North East that anyone knew about. Pruven Performance and Altered Atmosphere.

Did I say 250whp, I meant 250hp at the crank. Its the max for the t25

We are having a Dyno day here in CT @ Pruven performance on 4/17/2004. I am gearing my car up either for exciting or dissapointing news.
