I just wasn't sure if having the bigger FP would make me run pig rich or whatever.
Is the re-wire a necessity with a new pump?

I am sorry I didnt see the FP. Yes you will run pig rich with the FP. Atleast I did anyway. The rewire if i am not mistaken is to give you constant flow with no gaps. Jeff help me out on this.

yes, I realize that. I know that the re-wire helps to get as much as you can out of the stock pump. When you have the boost raised, you're pushing the pump more than the engineers had the car set up for. Thus, the need for a re-wire.
Now that I have an upgraded pump and won't really be using it to it's full potential, should it really need that "extra" juice?

The stock wiring on the FP loses voltage at higher than stockish boost levels. Doing the rewire just ensures you get constant voltage from a larger wire to ensure you never get a lean condition at high boost. If you have an SAFC installed rock out with the FP install and do the rewire if you feel like running it under the interior trim and through the firewall. I will do it once I relocate the battery to the trunk. Less wire to run. :thumbsup
