11579, Talon running, bad idle

Well I took my turbo off my 92 talon, and replaced my turbo on the 90. That fixed the smoking prob, I will have to put pics up on that turbo it was all messed up!!!

Anyway, my current problem is it still idles really weird. What it does is it will sit at about 1500rpm and then in steps it will slow down 1000rpm every 10-20secs. SOunds like it bogs then goes again. What could this possibly be, just a bad idle setting, or maybee plug wires...

you may double check all your gaskets and stuff. do an ic test and see if anything is hissing or leaking. you may want to change your plug wires and spark plugs too if it has been a while.

You sure it's not dropping because of the fans kicking on?
Also, check the throttle to make sure that it's closing all the way and not hitting the TPS. I had to adjust mine on the Talon when I first got it. It should JUST push in the sensor a LITTLE bit. After that adjust the idle by turning the BISS.

LOL hell ya... That turbo is all fuckered up....
I seen it a couple weeks ago... The shaft moves so much the fins are getting eaten away by the compressor housing...

he's talking about idle surge. If it was excessive shaft play, it makes some loud ass screeching noise when spooling. Wouldn't bother idle at all.

i also noticed today coming home from work, when i had the volume on the cd player up, but nothing was playing. I could hear the static fluxuate with the idle?? I dont know if this means anything, im going to replace the wires and plugs this weekend.

To me that sounds like an intake leak. Just recently the bolts that hold on the BOV backed out and that caused all kinda of idle problems including surge.

buahahha...that looks like my T-25...nice nice what killed it?
over boost? mine did i had boost creep hit 21 for a while then one day it hit 24 andboom the t25 couldnt take it...so it died

BTW did you clean you intercooler and pipes and all that other stuff?
when i took all of it apart there was so much shavings on the intake pipes, you wouldnt believe it....

Is it idle surge and was it doing that before the turbo blew?
