I know a guy selling an ECU but doesn't know what year it is. How can I find out if it's a 95 EPROM without opening it up. Are there any markings or numbers on the outside I should know about?

Here you go Tony. dsmlink.com should have every bit of info you need. Most all 95 ECU's are eprom, but that link tell you definitively how to tell. 96's and up are NOT eprom.

"Well, first, the only 2G DSMs with EPROM ECUs from the factory are the '95 models. We have seen a few '95 ECUs without EPROMs, but it's very unusual. You can be sure that if you have a '96+ model, you do not have an EPROM from the factory."

E on the sticker = EPROM. That's the key.

Thanks Matt. I knew it was only the 95's. He just didn't know if it was a 95 or a 96 and I needed to know if there was a way to tell w/out opening it up.

No problem. The extra info was for others who might want the info eventually. Let us know how the installation stuff goes when it happens.

If you look at the numbers on the ecu case , If it starts with a E then your good to go.

still waiting on the the o2 housing and the :censored injectors. I talked to Curt at SBR today and he said that they're coming in slowly and it "shouldn't" be too much longer. Judging by the way he said "should'nt", I don't think even he knows. hehe

haha...SBR and RNR blows....they take FOREVER to ship their items out. I for one will be glad when the DSM Vendor Review site launches. More people need to be made aware of shops that are quick to take your money but slow to ship.
