I'm having problems with my car leaning out after 5.5K.
Do you think it'll help if I vent to atmosphere?
}(
Seriously though, Todd and I no matter what we set the S-AFC to, could not get it to stop leaning out. Boosts and pulls hard with the o2's at .94-ish volts all the way to 5400-5500 and then they would just DROP.
I played around with the high throttle settings and leaned it way out down low and then added a little fuel around 5K and it helped a little. Now they only drop to about .88v which is still too lean.
Damn, I really need a logger.;(
My b-day is Tues., someone wanna buy me a cable for my handspring visor?

What fuel pump? Did you rewire it? If so, what size wire? It sounds like the pump is losing power in the upper RPMs. You can set the SAFC as high or low as you want, but if it doesn't have enough juice it just can't deliver enough fuel.

And you REALLY need to tune with a logger. o2 readings are pretty much worthless.

I have tuned to the egt myself but I never quite understood the o2 voltage tune method :shrug Tony buy logger before you hurt your beautiful car.

I NEED a LOGGER!!
It's a walbro 190 and that what I thought the problem was. It dropped off faster when I had the boost turned up and has gotten better with it down. Guess I'll re-wire it this weekend and see what happens.

I found another problem that may or may not be related to my fuel issue. I tested for boost leaks today and found a significant leak through my BOV's return opening.
I didn't have time to play around with the firmness settings on the BOV cause I had to leave for work but it makes me think that my metered air could just be looping around the system w/out making it all the way in. Well, not ALL of it but enough to cause stupid problems like I've been having...

wouldn't that make you rich vs. lean?

Greddy type S? I friggin hate mine, wondering if its worth getting the HKS when I try to figure out front mount issues, get a 1g, or just suck it up

Any company who's advice to fix a major design materials flaw is to "go to the hardware store and get progressively larger screws until the outside cover breaks" needs to be burned to the ground for not stamping new covers and at least selling them, if not giving them to the poor schmucks who bought the turbo

I thought about that and if the air was escaping the system to atmoshere, than the ECU would be supplying fuel for air that isn't there anymore. Since it's leaking back into the "loop", I wasn't sure if that would have any ill effects or not. The ECU may be supplying fuel for air that isn't there "YET". Which is why I'm running rich down low and lean up top. :scratch does that make sense?

No. The air is traveling very fast. The ECU is set up to read the air and dump in fuel at the appropriate time. (It sees how fast the air is coming in, so it knows how fast it will be compressed and shoved into the engine.)

I just think the 190 without the rewire is making you run lean. You will be amazed at how much more fuel gets into the engine after a rewire. Use 8g wire.

If I use 8 guage from a distro block next to the passenger rear seat under the speaker covering which fuse will I have to update.. i.e. the one by the battery or a fuse @ the f.p.

(the distro blcok is pushign 2 amps) In other words should the f.p. rewire be looked at like an amp install---does it draw that kind of current?

P.S. Tony where are you located? you can use my logger if you want---i'll be in nashville for about 2 more weeks then the MD area

*EDIT* n/m you're in MA, not MD (duh) I'm a dumbass

It will be "kind of" like an amp install as far as running the wires and stuff. The only difference will be hooking up the relay and having to solder everything.
