Can you hear lifter tick right under the valve cover, sounds kinda like keys jangling when you rev the engine? If so, is it aight to drive it like that? How would I get rid of it? Just bought this thing and already am in love.....2400 for car, already $350 on maintenence and replacing shit.

Btw....changed the air filter yesterday...previous owner had torn ALL the paper off the stock filter down to the metal grate AND changed the plugs, which were gapped at .45 and not even hand tight, just sitting in there...

trash the plugs if they're not NGK'BP6RES or whatever, the NGK's are so cheap and so good. (they're technically the OEM plugs--when in doubt find the NGK's for your car and buy the cheapest line of them)

I'd also get an K&N filter instead of another paper one, it'll be great with the 14b.

As for the lifter tick, its normal and yes, you can drive with it. I think all of us run synthetics here and I highly reccommend you do too, it helps with the tick a little and its alot better for your car. You can also try using a product called RESTORE, its in a silver can and alot of guys on this board swear by it, they put it in a coupla days before an oil change and drive around normally, then change the oil...

thanks man, really preciate it, yea, changed out with Magnecore 8.5mm wires, the NGK BP6res plugs, and picking up the K&N tomorrow mornin. Was kinda scared about the lifter tick, but now that I know this, it's time for boostin ;) thanks for the quick reply!
