Extreme and Mach V are selling a new product called ECU+ for both 1st and 2nd gen DSMs. It is apparently equal to DSMlink but about half the cost. I'll find a link later and update this response.

www.ecuplus.com

ch-check it out. I'm gonna research it more, but it sounds pretty legit from what I have gathered.

There have also been rumblings of dsmlink in a 1g coming out "soon" We'll see if that dream comes true. I wish it will.

I contacted ecu-plus and asked them some questions about their product.

Here is what I got

-Does not have a stand-still rev limiter built in (stutterbox)
-Reads the knock sensor, but does not interpret it, they are working on an algorithm to computer that.

Statement made by rep
"Keep in mind, this is designed as a fairly simple piggyback fuel/timing/datalogging solution. It's not priced anywhere close to the more sophisticated ECU systems, and it doesn't claim to have every feature under the sun. But some of our customers "wish list" items are do-able and will be added in the future. The unit is flash-programmable, so any software updates can be put on an existing unit."

Dan from MachV said its pretty cool. I dont mean to steal the thread, but is there a standalone program I can load on an old (100mhz) laptop, to do the same thing the palm does...?

Its discontinued, unsupported, and the company that made it is out of business. RoadRace will get angry if you ask them about it.

If you cant figure it out just by installing it, then a commercial product is probably your best bet.
