nevermind.... the car is making no boost at all..i think that may be a pretty good way to tell ... :rolleyes

Make sure the wastegate arm didn't fall off.

Check Shaft Play, Wastegate arm, any smoke coming out the exhaust, and boost leaks.

yeah def do a boost leak test before you go buying another turbo...
20 bucks vs. 1k
and if it is something else (it often is, its happened to me before too) then its gonna do the same on a new turbo
