10709, Major problem... Need some advice
Posted by PowerEclipses, Jun-01-04 05:38 AM
If im just cruising in 4th gear and I see something coming up behind me, evo etc... I drop it into 3rd, double clutch but the RPMS fly up really fast and then drop back down. I have no idea what it could be. The ONLY thing I could actually think of is it needs to be retuned. I hope to god its nothing with the engine because if it is i dont have the money to drop in it right now. I did my best to describe what happens but if you have any questions just ask.

ok so you double clutched-- were you using the throttle to rev match as well? are you sure you just didnt' linger a little bit on the gas pedal before you engaged the clutch?

It really does sound like a slipping clutch. Does your engine bay smell like fried clutch?

Don't worry too much about it. The ACT clutches always spring back to life after being abused. That is what makes them so great :)

Yeah I was kinda thinking the same thing but I was like no way in hell this clutch is or tranny is bad... but i was wondering if it could be bad gas? I dont know I will watch it.
