10264, do i need to use copper crush washers on the oil line?

i had them on the first time and the oil line would leak like a bitch, never seemed all the way tight even though after i pulled them off they were completely flat. so i want to use some steel ones and be able to get them on really tight.

i really just dont want to put the car togeather again and have the exact same problem

Yeah you need to use them. I dont think steel ones would seal as good. You must have a nick in the line to have it leak. Does the sealing surface on the line look flat?? I dont think you wanna use steel washers.

Edit: 900 posts Bishes!!!

Use the crush washers. The reason they ar copper is so they will be malleable enought o form to the surface and seal. Steel is too hard and would cause a larger leak, unless you went and had the eyebolt, washers and other surface al milled to a tolerance of .004". But that would be silly.
