I dumped it for space reasons on mine. As far as emissions itself, you can pass without it....it has been done on numerous occasions. I thought on 97+ they now just plug into your obd2 ports. There is a obd2 readiness line of code that you can run before the test from my understanding.

Right...all they do is plug into obd-ii...I just wanted to make sure I would still pass that test if I had the EGR removed.
