linkages out of adjustment maybe?
I had the same problem with reverse after I pulled the tranny and put in my ACT 2600
Under the shift boot youll see the adjusting nuts on the cables, Id try loosening or tightening them one at a time and see if it helps

Not sure if thats the answer but i guess its somewhere to start. At least its cheap lol
