Me and my friend are going to make a Go-Kart this summer, he used to do that shit all the time but I will def. be a newbie about it, We are going to get some kind of motorcycle motor on it and make a frame from scratch as well, and i was thinking of putting 2 of my Tenzo seats in there too lol, Have any of you guys done this (most likely)?

I built one. All aluminum square tubing frame. Small little slicks, 4hp Briggs & Stratton Tiller motor. It hauled ass. Then, the brake cable came loose, and I never replaced it, so I had no brakes at all, I just used a kill switch on the motor to stop. After that, I came across a McCulloch Chainsaw motor used on a previous race cart. If you don't know that mmuch about racing go-karts, the McCullochs' were used extensively back in the day. Hardest bitch to pull start ever. I ran a mix of alcohol and gas through it. It was loud as hell, and a screamer. I had to put knobbys on it to grip in the grass, because it would just sit there and spin with the slicks on. Also upgraded to a torque converter, since the centrifigul clutch wasn't strong enough.

I had plans to put two McCulloch's on, but never got around to it and I sold the kart. ahh, good times in central Ohio.

Ya i dont know much about go-karts but i just want one to fuck around in, we also had an idea to throw a t25 on a motor as well lol

LOL, megasquirt your go-kart :)

The engine part is one of the easier parts I would have to say. The harder parts would be the frame, suspension (should be the hardest), steering, and then getting everything to fit in and work. I haven't built one but I would like to. And while a turbo would be sweet, I should think that would be overkill.

The frame was the hardest for me. Suspension was a non issue, since there was no suspension. It was rigid. :D

Ya i wasn't going to do any suspension on mine either, I honestly dont wanna spend too much since I just wanna fuck around with it but it looks like its all going to start adding up...

ameratures dont use nitrous oxide! iv seen the way you drive...youve got a heavy foot...youll blow yourself to peices!

Ok, time for a serious response. If you use NOS on a go kart, be prepared to be replacing a LOT of passenger side floorboards. If you think the NOS/floorboard problem is common on eclipses, just wait untill you put it on a go kart!

(P.S. I would re-check the welds on your intake manifold before you put it all back together. Better safe than sorry! :thumbsup)
