9257, more neon problems. ugh.

so after my last no start condition, after a few weeks, it just started up without me doing anything. whatever. so i drove it around for the past three weeks, not a single problem. no overheating, no idle issues, no driveability issues. i go out to leave work last night and it starts for a split second and dies, i crank again, no start. looks like im not getting any fuel, my guage read E but i never saw the dummy light(which i was waiting for). i went and got a gallon of gas, cranked it, no pressure. WTF? i checked all the relays and fuses next to the battery, nothing. hit the gas tank on the passenger side with the butt end of a big screwdriver, nothing. went looking for some wiring back there to check for +12 but couldnt find any. what now? posted on neons.org again but they are once again being worthless and arent helping. thoughts, opinions, etc?

im wondering if the fuel pump died. problem is a stock one is like 250 bucks or something rediculous. i barely have 350 into the whole car, why spend 250 on a pump? probly looking for a used one or something if that is the problem. also thinking about taking it to a shop and getting a quote. im just sick of messing with it. it has to be reliable and so far, it hasnt been, may be for sale in the near future.

not to mention i was going to rip into the 1g tomorrow and start installing the pile of go fast parts, wont be doing that now. :thumbsdown

I would say to listen when you turn the ignition to ON and listen for the fuel pump priming before you go buying one. But what do I know? :shrug

what are you talking about? i bought it with a bad oil leak, other than that it ran fine. fixed the oil leak, then wouldnt start for a few weeks, fixed itself, here we are again but this issue is different. i was getting fuel before.

anyone else? driggs? i know you had a neon beater.

What do you mean "checked fuses/relays"? Like if they were seated correctly or if they all tested a-okay?

i pulled them out and looked at em, put each relay in the horn slot and honked the horn. the 20 amp fuse was only visually examined but it looks ok.
