9235, I start my new job in a couple weeks... Posted by CopperEclipse96, May-13-06 03:12 PM
Doing this...

I work for the electric company now, and they had an opening for lineman so I applied, and got it. Soooo, I go to do some more training probably in the first week of june. Should be interesting. $1 more an hour from what I'm doing now, plus there's a lot more opportunity for advancement, and I'll get a lot more overtime. I can't fucking wait.

when I graduated from high school my moms company had an opening for a lineman. I wanted to go to college though becuase with my luck I would fall and bust my ass and not be able to work anymore... but at this point a career sounds awful nice compaired to 3 more years of school. Anywho good luck on the new job,and be careful. Theres a bit of voltage running though those lines.

Thats the kicker, they pay for my school too. Well, tuition reimbursement. I get 90% of my tuition back for an A, 80% for a B, and 70% for a C. So thats a pretty good incentive to do good in school too. It will probably take me 10 years to graduate, but I can't complain. I make good money and go to school for almost nothing. :shrug

Well the company is First Energy, but there are smaller companies within. We've had quite a few mergers and stuff. We have companies in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

Congrats. You guys might remember my earlier posts about my job closing down. Well my last day was supposed to be tomorrow so I smoked a lot of weed at the beach on my birthday and as I left work on Friday night I got offered a job at the dealership that is taking us over and I have to take a drug test sometime this week. We still need to negotiate pay though but just in case they are willing to give me more $, I'm drinking A LOT of water and took a trip to the vitamin shop.

LOL nice, you might want to exercise a bit too, get all that stuff outta ur system... if all else fails I think I've heard taking a shot of vinegar will hide it/clean it. I might be in the same position, I just got called to come in for an interview for a company called Primerica, a division of Citigroup. Some financial assistance company, whatever the job is I'd take it I need the money sooo bad for my turbo :)
