It looks like it's been sitting forever, but he could be right. There's no pics showing the internals so there's no way to know except to take his word for it.

I am calling bull shit, if you look at his history in the past 3 months he has bought civic, escort, and s-10 parts; and a bunch of replacment parts at that. then on top of all of that he got a book on nitrus and a e-book on building a turbo kit for all vtech cars. Asshat probally pulled it from a yard and is trying to screw someone.

Yea no shit. That thing looks like shit. Who would put the money into rebuilding an engine, especially with forged components, and not take the measures to keep it in good condition. I mean my factory engine that was in the car for 90k, didnt look half that bad when I took out. It has definetly been sitting and I have a hard time believing that all that appearance of rust is from the humidity unless he has it sitting for an extended period of time in an extremely humid, poor environment.

I think that he is definetly trying to screw someone here. We should all ask him to pull the pan and take pics to prove the rods and pistons at a minimum. Although that still doesnt gaurantee the condition at least we could save someone the trouble of getting screwed completely.

There we go, I sent an email requesting him to remove the pan and take pictures.....along with various other questions. Lets see what happpens!!!

Well i may have gotten the names on the pistons wrong, but if you'd read some of the questions i posted up, i stated that this work was done to the engine before i got it, so myself did not have this work done, it was a close freinds car and he had all the work done to it, and when it was wrecked i bought the car with intentions of fixing it and it would of been too much trouble. Also no where in this auction i have stated that the bottomend is forged, it has a stock crank. And there is absolutly no rust or water in side this engine, it still has 4 quarts of fresh 10w30 in it, i think you might want to think twice before you go speculating and accusing something you know nothing about. Thanks-Joe Carlson

why does it have only 4 quarts of oil, should have 5, but im gonna call bullshit on this "forged" motor
9213, RE: Ebay needs our help again!!!
Posted by cc8balla, May-13-06 04:58 AM
It dosen't have a "forged" bottom end anymore I guess. It just has a stock crank, so it's not "forged".:7

Thats true i didnt notice that but he did say that, and a stock bottom end can handle that! lol oh well its up to 550 now

did you guys check the new pictures. He has taken off the oil pan. Looks like stock internals to me.

Yep yep....looks like stockers!!

On May-14-06 at 16:46:01 PDT, seller added the following information:
I have had a lot of requests for pictures of the inside to verify that they are forged internals. There are no markings on the pistons or connecting rods, and i'm familiar with the 420a's so take a look. I paid for Eagle Forged Rods and forged pistons in this engine (i assumed the pistons were eagle but i found they don't make them, so they are most likely ross/wiseco).

This is kinda funny too. He insists that he is familiar with the 420a and that they are eagle rods and ross/wiseco pistons.

They are definetly not H-beam Eagle Rods. Do they even make I-beams for our cars??? The pistons definetly are not wiseco because I have an old set and an old set of stockers. They are definetly stock pistons. The forged ones look totally different.

My question is what the hell can we do about this. Is there a way to report a BS auction without actually purchasing it?? I am going to email him again in reference to those pics. I will send him pics of what an eagle rod and wiseco piston look like. And then maybe he will get the idea.

YAY....our works is done. He finaly did an edit and added that the internals are stock.

he actually seems like an honest seller. I emailed him regarding the internals, and he wasn't rude. He was actually interested in knowing if they were stock.

Ya he was pretty rude to me about the first question I asked, but then when I explained to him that they were stock, and had pics of forged internals to prove it, he became much more personable. I am not going to accuse him of being a bad seller because he could have got screwed like he said, but he says he was experience with the motor. I dont know about you guys, but I would want proof if buying a built motor, or if I was selling one I would be sure to provide proof also. Anyway, at least it is cleared up.
