The 2GNT Steering Committee (2GNT/SC) is considering freshening up a couple things having to do with the appearance of the site. That said, we are taking a look at the current logo.

Currently, the design looks like this (courtesy the decal order page):


Ideally, a new design would be an evolution of the current, much beloved version, but we are brainstorming at this point and, ultimately, if another design is chosen, it will be the design that best reflects the site and community. We will be looking for designs which will be easily used on not only decals for windows, but also on items like shirts, hats, and the website itself.

If you consider yourself handy with the Illustrator or the Quark, feel free to give this a shot. There is no deadline for submissions, nor is there any guarantee that any submission will be used as-is, but we are working on a new, official logo for all 2GNT merchandise.

Whats wrong with the old one? I like it and there is already brand recognition built in with it.

..the only suggestions I have, is clean up it up a bit.. I think the Eclipse Talon and the shadow underneath could probably go, maybe change it to a bluish color scheme.

i dunno, i think the current logo needs no change.

as far as im concerned our logo is like our cars...classic. no need to "update" into the 21st centry with our logo any more than we need to update the looks of our generation to the new century.

Haha. that'll last a year tops. Modern advertising has no staying power. Look to the classics if you want to find a logo/design that has stood the test of time...
for example:

Puma hasn't changed their logo forever- classic and immediatly identifiable

Adidas- changed their logo a few years back from the ever classic 3 stipe to poo... now not instantly recognizable by the masses.

Adidas has a new logo??

Not necessarily looking to come up with an entirely new logo. Like I said, the ideal design would be an evolution of the current one, maybe the only difference being it's cleaned up a little bit. If you think you might be able to help sharpen the saw, then let us know.
