Not sure if this belongs here or not (move accordingly Tony) but I was just wondering what the points we get awarded by other users was supposed to represent. For good tech info? For good ideas? For good selling experiences? Just wondering because I have been a member for small amount of time but am active daily. However I still only have 4 points. Pleas dont take this as an attention whore I want points thread. I'm just curious.

pretty much any of the above. if someone helped you out to the point where you think they need a lil pat on the back, good seller experience, anything like that.

on the flip side if someone rips you off or is just a prick to you (and i mean really, not just cuz they hurt your feelings) and you feel the need to slap em around a bit...neg points are also able to be left.

The points system was originally intended to be used as a rating system for sales transactions. Like eBay feedback, so to speak. Of course, it's been used for other reasons, but if someone helps you out or steps on their dick, it is used for that too. :shrug

The more active you are, the faster you will earn points. Just give it time and don't worry about it any.

I award points for people who I have had good transactions with or poeple who have gone out of their way to help me with something.
I also have awarded points in return for someone giving me points. :shrug
