Just ordered my copy today

Saw it, rented it from blockbuster a couple times. Great flick. I was never into the anime of it, but seeing this movie made me wanna follow the whole story. It's not a bunch of ricey cars like in the F&F movies, cars are clean. Well done movie imo.

The Initial D movie has been out for almost a year now. I don't know if there is an english dubbed version out so if you dont mind reading sub-titles its worth the watch.

The live action movie sucked so much balls that I had to go commando for a week. Fuck that stupid ass, tofu driving, I'm-so-bored-with-everything-except-maybe-this-whore-I've-been-sorta-seeing-on-the-side asshat.

I was actually embarrasssed at making my dad and GF sit through that tripe with me. What's worse, the action scenes were the same thing over and over and OVER again. Oh look! A $1500 late-eighties Corolla can get sideways through every turn! AMAZING. :rolleyes

There are three reasons why someone should drift:
1. Maintain speed through a corner on un-apaved surfaces (WRC).
2. Entertain a crowd of spectators who don't get enough burning rubber during burnouts at the track.
3. For personal entertainment.

The shithead in that movie:
1. Was not in any particular hurry to complete a stage on gravel.
2. Was not entertaining said trendy propaganda victims.
3. Was not even remotely interested in what he was doing at any given moment.

That movie sucked in a million ways. If it sucked any more, Bill Clinton would have never been involved with whatshername.

I thought it was worth my time watching it lol. The driving was real drifters doing it, not computer generated stuff, so that was a plus.

The movie sucks because it doesnt do justice to the anime. They left out one of the best characters (Kyosuke - driver of the yellow RX-7) and made the father a bumbling drunk,made Ryosuke (the FD driver) a smiling idiot, took out Kenta and Iketani (the other comedic side kicks - Iketani was the one who drove the green S14 btw) and botched the storyline in more ways than one.
The only respectable part is there was hardly any CG done in the car scenes.
Seriously, if you can get over the fact that you have to watch a cartoon, the anime is 10,000 times better.

Fast and the Furious was fun. Mainly because a bunch of trendy, JDM sycophants weren't all up on it's nutsack when it came out.

As for the drifting scenes being real, there were a good number of them where they looked totally fake. It was boring. It was stupid. It was a waste of a free rental coupon with my Rewards program. Fortunately, I also picked up "The Constant Gardner" that weekend as well, which was supremely done.

2F2C was weaksauce. I mean, all other fallacies aside, they had a 3G in the movie. :shrug

Personally, I like the anime version and the live movie. Ive had the live movie for I dont know how long (my bro ordered it from china), and I still like to watch it. I understand there is some gay crap, and it sucks that they left crap out, but I WOULD WAY WATCH IT OVER THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS!!!!

Plus, when Dom drives, he's golden. Kids pour in here, they want everything he's got, AND THEY PAY CASH.

it rocks. that is all i have to say on the subject. one of the greatest car flicks of all time.

Driggs please watch the anime when you get a chance

After watching it....I agree the romance part's of it were lame but the movie itself was more enjoyable than both f&f's combined.
