I am a huge supporter of anything Apple, and I myself own 2 iPods (one doesn't work well, and the other I got because my grandparents won it and didn't know what it was.) I would not get a second hand iPod unless you really knew the person. I have heard of a lot of issues with them, and the only good part is that Apple covers almost everything. I can't even count all the people I know that had to send one back for this or that. If you get one second hand you are going to lose that option. If you want cheap then go to Apple's website and find one that is refurbished. It will still be covered by them, and they are marked down up to 50%.

thanks for the info on the apple refurbished... i did not know they sold refurbished products with warranty. but if anyone still has one for a reasonable price...let me know.

There used to be a promotion run by chase credit cards. Sign up and if you are approved get a credit card and a few weeks later get an ipod shuffle fro FREE. I filled application but they refused (turned out I already have a credit card form them)

You might want to research it abd give them a call.

I've heard of people getting new ipods with those pyramid schemes. I've personally think they're too much trouble though. I've personally owned 4 ipods (yes I'm an Apple nut) and never had any trouble with them. Then again, I always sell it to get another one.

If you go to a University, you can get a discout from Apple. Its about 10% I believe. My 5th gen 30gig ipod with vid cost 291 with taxes from the apple store. If you order online, its free shipping.

how do you go about getting that university discount? i wouldn't mind saving 10% on the 30gig i was looking to buy.

there is somewhere on the site that you register as a student, then you go through the whole shopping thing....just a heads up, student discount doesnt work on refurbished units. not like it matters, i haven't been a student in a few years...

ok, sounds easy enough; i don't want a refurbished one anyway.

haven't checked their site yet, but i wouldn't be suprised if there wasn't a store in fort myers.

i checked out the link on the bottom of their main page, where it says "find a reseller", but it only showed regular retail stores such as comp usa and circuit city.
