So I've seen this car at my school over the last few years and I've always hated it. its a black 97-01 style prelude which, alone looks nice but its got these really gay decals on the side that are all glittery on it. Rims and exhaust everything else stock besides that. Pretty much first guess is girls car with nothing under the hood. It's parked in one of the lots for people that work in the cafeterias, maintenance, etc. So of course I figure whatever floats your boat probably doesn't have much else done.

Anyways today I'm turning onto a road and he's turning from that road onto the one I'm on. I have to stop and he turns and punches it. The whining starts and gets louder as I'm left going wtf, supercharged? I'm not 100% sure but idk what else it could have been. Never in a million years would I have guessed that, I've got a new found respect for that car, unless of course they have things that can make your car sound supercharged, he didn't look like he was moving all that fast but could have been part throttle I guess. All I know is it left me wondering about it all through my next class.

So what kind of sleepers have you guys seen that surprised you?

no they have the JRSC for the 5gen lude. while the 4th gen is better to turbo because of the chassy, my sleeper is my 92 lude w/ a JDM F22B same hp/-10tq and compression as the h23 but has iron sleeve instead of the h's frm sleeves that sucks for boost. 1g manifold w/ evo 16g, 2g smic. stock body. really fun to drive and way faster then my 2gnt til I rebuild the motor and boost it.

idk, it def didn't sound like a loose belt, but can't say i've ever heard a car with a bad alternator bearing. Anyways if it was supercharged I give the guy props, if not then he gets flamed for the decal, lol

My encounter with a nasty sleeper was when I was crusing with a friend(he has a 99 t/a, intake, exaust other crap 12.9 1/4 mile) This dood in a minivan pulled up next to us, the light turned green and it started to make a psshhht noise, we both looked at each other then looked over at the guy and sure enough he was looking right at us. We pulled up to the next light and asked for a run. And let me tell you that was the fastest soccer mom car ever. Shit was just out. We followed him into a parking lot and got him to show us his shit. It was a caravan(silver with fake wood door pannels) 2.5 swap, gt28r turbo kit(custom kit) running just a sfmu/safc setup, smic, 5 spd swap(the center console looked clean as hell too. It was by far the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Parts Dinosaur Mechanical tensioner?

I'm not sure about sleepers here in Charleston... I'm sure there are a few, I just have not found them yet, not unless they are pickup trucks.

A friend of mine works for a machining shop, makes damn good money, owns an 04 f-350 on 42's, an r6, and his baby sleeps in the garage, only coming out on thursdays(test and tune night at the local track). Its a 93 champange colored talon, i cant tell you exactly what he has done to it, but hes pushing well over 25psi, last year, his final run was an 11.3, no idea what hes got up his sleeve this year.

This guy has an older Accord (mid 90's I think) w/ a fully built Prelude motor and a nice sized turbo. Still has the Accord transmission and the gear ratio is insane. He has kept up w/ some of the modded Supra's in the area. Lots of sleepers around here. Saw an old Mazda 323 w/ a HUGE FMIC on it. Don't know much about it but that would be sweet if he did the AWD swap to. I know in other countries they made an AWD turbo 323. My favorite personal moment was w/ the turbo 2gnt. Some Integra pulled next to me as we were cruisin' around 40mph. Didn't have any room to really get on it but we both punched it to give each other a BOV salute. Both of us looked at each other saying "didn't know that was turbo" He saw my stock low spoiler and I saw his stock exhaust that sounded like he had an exhaust leak but he had a dump tube and it was really loud. Friends LS body Integra w/ a stroker kit and LS/Vtec w/ some huge turbo is hitting 11's on low boost. He has been surprising all sorts of cars in the area. Sleepers are nice.
