I'm curious to see who here is into that type of music. I've been listening to it for a long time but just recently have I gotten into it alot more. I'm going to see DJ Tiesto, my favorite dj, on May 6th at the Congress Hall in Chicago and I saw Paul Oakenfold last summer. My other favorites are PVD, Carl Cox, Mark Farina, among others. So who here is into it?

I'm not "into" it, however I have friends who are and everything they've ever sent me I've enjoyed a lot.

But I like it in small doses like that.

It's pretty cool late at night with the windows down. I wouldn't listen to it any other time though.

Tiesto is the ultimate. I listen to some of the dj's you've mentioned like oakenfold, though I've never said or will say I like "house." I'm always up for listening to new stuff, list some good songs I'll check them out. Anything with a lot of base, and vocals like Kelli Ali

Yea, I prefer the songs with the vocals and stuff, as gay is it makes me look in public.

DNB and other stuff gets old after a while.

Baby Anne is another good DJ, but her stuff gets old to me.

i think tiesto is overrated. he's very well known, and I think thats why so many people say he's the best. he's like the honda civic of imports. but i like tiesto too, dont know if i would say he's the best though. i saw him live once, it was a good show.

nothing beats driving on a warm night with the windows down listening to some good techno. it was really awesome in miami with all the lights and shit.

EDIT: Also, on Sirius satellite radio, the techno station is really good. on weekends they broadcast live sets. it's damn good.

hmmm, i might have to check out the sirius channel. And I couldn't agree with you more. Driving with the windows down on a warm night listening to some good techno just can't be beat IMO. Copper, who else do you really like and listen to alot?

Wow... Big techno/house fan.. have been since i was a freshman in HS. Soo what about 10 years or so. Started with Fatboy Slim, Paul Oakenfold, ATB, Paul VanDyk, lately got into some others. I really wanted to go to that Tiesto show there in Chicago. How much are tickets? I have that weekend off and I've been wanting to see him for a couple years now. Not to often do you get good (world renowned) DJ's in Chicago. A few months ago I think ATB was there in Chicago. Shit if you can get me more info on that show, I just might try to make it out there. I have that weekend off so it wouldn't matter how late I was out there.

i used to listen to it ALOT back a couple years ago..now not quite so much. im more into hard rock at this stage. but i do enjoy listning to it still when im in the mood.

Yeah, if you have sirius, check out channel 33.

Uhm... I'll run through my iTunes and make a little list.

-Oakenfold is good... the creamfields CD is good for night driving
-James Lavelle has some good mixes
-Sasha is good, as is John Digweed, and get them together and they're damn good too.
-Fatboy Slim
-I like daft punk, but it's different from all the others
-Chemical brothers and crystal method are GREAT
-prodigy is always good
-search for essential mixes. they are live sets broadcast on BBC, and are usually really good.

not all those are trance or anything, but all are good, imo.

you can get a lot of good artists off of the sirius channel too.

ima classical music, classic rock and techno man here. strange mix eh? i think its because they are some of the phew types of music that have actually had people with musical talent work in. i goto admit that some tech/house suxs major ass, the ones i dont like are the ones that just break the song in with hard core bass beats, thats a NO NO for me. they goto break it nice and smooth, start out slow and low, relaxing mood then bumb that shit to the limit, thats how i like me techno! I got into techno music cause every car video I ever downloaded had techno music in it so now whenever I hear a certain song I think of that video. Mainly the redline supra videos and the drift videos. I like Tiesto though.

Tiesto is good, ATB is frickin great, Keoki is my favorite DJ though. I'm here in the DC area so we always get the top talent comming to the buzz parties @ nations. I have seen many Dj's there and none of them suck...lol. You have Dave Ralph, AK1200, bad boy bill, Adam Freeland, Alex whalen Aphrodite, Basement Jaxx, Carl Cox Charles feelgood, Donald Glaude, Felix da housecat, Freaky flow, Grooverider, sasha, John digweed, John Tab, Micro, paul vandyk, pete tong, Rabbit in the Moon, Tall Paul, Tech itch, Timo Mass, these are just out of my collection... I'm not as into the scene as I used to be. But it is great Music for clubbing and dancing, I will listen to it in my car because it makes me drive faster, but in the house and all I don't really listen to it anymore.

I would agree with copper on that being one impressive list. My buddy got me into crystal method and prodigy. I like listening to them sometimes, but i need to be in the mood. I'll definitely check out channel 33 and I already know about the essential mixes as I have about 10 of them on my computer right now and love them all. Hey fellas check out djmixed.com. If I remember correctly these guy's did a bunch of high talent mix cd's. You can get them in the stores and everything. They have worked with many of the big names in the world. To ETX I'm sorry I forgot Ritchie Hawtin, I saw him tear the decks up at the buzz on a few separate occasions... I'm just lucky to live so close to americas number one club.. They are getting ready to tear the place down now though to make room for the new baseball stadium in DC...

I love this music. And Tiesto IS great, but I think the best is Ian van Dahl. That man can drop a beat.
