Hey, I was wondering what you guys think about this:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/AutoshowArticles/articleId=109468

I believe its coming out next year (2007). Its a MazdaSpeed 3, turbocharged 2.3 litre. I think it throws about 250hp. I've already sold my turbo kit and now trying to save up for a new car. I know its probably not best to talk about other cars but I really loved my eclipse. But I was running through so much trouble with it that I couldnt take it anymore. So now I'm trying to save up for something else. Any suggestions about this car or other cars would be great, thanks

My fiance has a 2006 Mazda 3, but hers is the regular 2.0l version and that is nice as hell. Doesn't sound as cool as the Talon, but I like it. It's quiet, a little too quiet actually, I didn't realize I was going 90 miles an hour in it one time.

Smooth and silky feel to them.

My buddy has a 2003.5 msp, thing is pretty cool. I was deff impressed with its performance. I am sure this thing will be a popular car.

I usually think it's a good idea to stay away from buying the first year of a new model, so they can fix all their mistakes. Sounds like a good car w/ a good ammount of power. I don't mind the wagons but the sedans are pretty ugly. Got 2 friends w/ them and they love them.
EDIT: Not a bad price either. The torque #'s look nice to (280TQ outta a 4 banger.... NICE) Cost the same as that new Caliber or a WRX.

Never really was a fan of the 3. I think mazda's 2.3l has been around for a while, so there may be quite a few mods available for it. This version of the 3 doesn't look too bad, I still wouldn't buy one though.

welp, i see that there are some good comments about the performance; but its still not quite the good on the looks, hehe. I personally like the mazdaspeed 6 but I thought it would be cool to have a smaller version with the same power...but the 6 is awd. Still debating on those two, but got plenty of time to save up. Thanks for the comments guys

I'll chime in here. Its the exact same engine thats in the speed 6, its just restricted. If you just open up both ends, you will gain significant HP.

Only comes in FWD with LSD. They say they stiffened up the chassis 30%. If that is true, this thing is going to be a serious contender in autocross. I have the 3 hatch and the handling is amazing on this thing, so I can only imagine what it will be like on this.

Looks are all subjective. I like how both the hatches and the sedans look. Not as nice as the eclipse/talon, but I still like it.

As far as bang for your buck, this is about at the top of the list. For under 25k you get 250hp, leather heated seats, lsd, navi, tpms, climate control...yadda yadda yadda. Interior is rather nice for an economy car. It scracthes kinda easily, but as far as asthetics, it is better than any economy car I have come across.

I wanna see what its gonna run. We had a stock 3 hatch with only intake and exhaust run a 15.3.

The engine seems to be solid. We have one guy with a turbo running over 500hp with very little engine work, minus the turbo of course.

Heres a few pics of my 3. Dont got much done to it
Tint
HID's 6k
Angel Eyes / Demon Eyes / whatever you wanna call them
Cleared headlights
cleared taillights
clear reflectors
removed side moldings
relocated badging to rear

Ehhh middies...

I never really understood the appeal of these cars. I'm sure they're super reliable and I've heard that the interior is nice, but they just look like bleh from the outside. 250hp FWD under 25K? Great power to price tag ratio. I suppose it should give that turbo neon a run for its money.

Not nearly as beautiful as a sleek 2nd gen DSM, but I've always wanted a Mazda hatch. Pretty cool if you ask me.

The only SRT that doesnt really make sense to me is the Crossfire SRT-6. 45k for 330hp...meh

this the Mazdaspeed package (just body kit, wheels and suspension):

This a pic of the rumored Mazdapseed RX-8:

The new mazdaspeed 6 5door is way better than the 3. The 6 is suppost to have around 275 turboed chared horsepower and awd.
