5234, Do you back your car in... Posted by etx, Mar-13-06 05:02 AM
And why? I'm sick of dumbshits doing this. They block the damn drive while people are trying to park, and look like complete asshats. What are you going to rob the place? Gotta make a quick getaway? Wtf is your deal guy?
So if you back your car in explain yourself, because I hate you. :)

I've done it on occasion, Only if i was looking for a spot and didnt see as i drove passed it. The other reason is for when you pull out, you can actually see traffic and not blindly backing out. I also on occasion just like pissing people off and dont really care what they think of me, i like seeing peole getting all bent out of shape for using 5 seconds of their day. :P

I ususally do back in because I have the RMDSM chin spoiler, and I dont want to crush it. I am usuually pretty good at parking forwards with it too, but one bad day can wreak havoc on my front end. Other than that, there is really no reason why I would back in.

I do it when the only spot open is next to a large SUV, truck or van. I can't always see to back out when I am next to them, so pulling out makes it easier. I do like backing into the garage because then I can just pull out right away, makes me feel like Batman, haha.

A friend of mine always backs into spots and he said it makes it easier for him to leave...Which in turn makes it harder to arrive.

I back into my garage usually. Mostly becuase all my power outlets are by the garage door and I don't have long enough cables on my shop lights when I'm working on the car.

Only if I'm bored and nobody else is coming down the road.

I back in at work for a few reasons:
1) When it's time to leave, I hop in the car and leave. I can clearly see anyone and don't have to be careful backing out. I can put it in 1st and dump the clutch right out of the parking space.
2) When walking across the warehouse, I like to look at the ass-end of my car (she's got a nice ass, what can I say?) and admire the look of the 315 tires on the rear, combined with my relocated spoiler.
3) The angle of the sun is blocked better by the windshield visor in the hotter part of the day than if I pulled in forward.
Now, if I'm getting ready to partk and someone's behind me, I pull to the side, let them pass, then back in. It only takes about an additional 10 seconds to back in. If you're the guy who's worried about his 10 extra seconds to get in the door at work, then I hate you too... :P

Why you gotta be like that, Chickenfucker? :wary
I back in just to piss off harried people who should budget their time better so they aren't in such a fucking hurry in the goddamned parking lot every morning.

i agree with RSClipse9d7, going in from the back does make pulling out easier..... :cheers

I had to back in at work because my license plate cover reads "Shirt and shoes required, bras and panties optional"... I work at a childcare, and a lot of the parents get butthurt about it.

dosent it tho?? and im not just talking about cars :P
i personally dont back in just because most everywhere i park is directional, not straight...and i dont really care to hold up traffic while backing in.

Oh yeah, and what if I don't back into the spot, but instead just drive into the vacant one in front of me, making it look like I backed into it? Technically, I didn't back into the spot then. :P
Oh yeah, I hate people who hate on people backing in... :P

I back in ALL the time... I can't remember when was the last time I parked head first/forward... I feel more comfortable backin' in then I do foward... The main reason I back in, is the typical one, it's simpler and safer gettin' out... It doesn't take me long backin' in, I do it "swiftly" and I (for the most part) end up in the middle of the lines, it's rare when I park so off that the car beside me has a chance of hittin' my car with there door...
Peace, Jem

I back my car in all the time.
Except at the mall.
And the grocery store.
And the Porno Palace.

Easier to park and leave, especially in a small parking lot. I think it's harder to park forward. I still do every once in a while in cities, even though I live in TN. I guess driving in Japan for few years teaches you how to park.

Because sometimes, I just feel like it!
I'm going to go park backwards in the angled spots at the DMV now.

I usually back in. It's a habbit from when I was a lot attendant at Land Rover for 3 years and had to back in every car into a parking spot. I usually don't do it if anyone is behind me but it's a lot easier to see when you are coming out cause people here as asses and won't let you out and keep driving. Stupid people from Washington DC.

I was never good at pulling in between two cars for some reason. Always afraid of hitting one of them, also I park in garages or places with high curbs a lot and if I accidentally go to far I'd rather it be my rear bumper getting fucked or my tires or exhaust tapping than my front bumper being scraped to shit, so I back in 99.9% of the time, That and its fun to drive in reverse really quickly and cut the wheel to pull into a spot backwards perfectly, especially when people are watching and its obvious they think your gonna hit something or are afraid you are gonna run into them. And lets not forget the most important, to see a) how high you can get your speedo and b) how much boost you can build. lol
