So I have really really bad allergies to grass and wanted a fun little project to keep me busy and out of the grass. I present to you guys my rc mower project. This is what happens when a car enthusiast builds an rc lawnmower... It's still not finished and I'm still waiting on some parts, but here's what I have so far... enjoy :)

Just welded up some side frames and mounted them to the motors.

These old lame decals will just not do....

http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/Red90Sev/media/RC%20Mower/20140614_114814_zpsf5d917d9.jpg.html>

A nice little decal on the motor cover and fan grills added to the mix.
http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/Red90Sev/media/RC%20Mower/20140617_163709_zps5d3ed728.jpg.html>

With the lights on, I dig it!
http://s1205.photobucket.com/user/Red90Sev/media/RC%20Mower/20140617_163517_zps1f87a5d7.jpg.html>

And here's just a bunch of pics. It still has a ways to go to be finished, but I thought I would throw my progress up here. I will soon have a camera mounted to with pan/tilt so I can mow from my couch. I'm also in the process and adding a bunch more decals to add to the kind of science theme. The orange is soooooo much more intense in person too.

This is awesome. Very cool and creative. How do you plan to link the front wheels and control steer?

It steers like a tank. The two rear motors are controlled independently of each other. So forward is both motors rotating at the same rpm. To turn left, the right motor spins at a higher rpm than the left motor, causing it to turn left. The front just swivels. I'll get some video up of it soon. I mowed the yard with it before I took it back apart to do the painting/decals and haven't mowed with it the way it is. It's just so pretty I don't want to use it to mow lol. But as far as being done, it's 100% functional, I just haven't finished a lot of the decals and am still waiting on the ccd camera. (Damn usps)

Lol. I'm in the process of restoring it. It was free to me a fee years back. She'll be looking a lot better here soon.
