I bought my Eclipse, brand new back in 1998. Hard to believe it's been that long.

She's still doing well. Not perfect but then again nothing is. Time has taken its toll in places (rear spoiler comes to mind), but not bad for a 15yr old car with about 86k miles.

Here she is in the driveway at my new place.

I'm not sure if I've owned my car longer than anyone else, but I'm sure I am pretty close to having a 2GNT longer than most anyone.

I've had mine since 98 also and it still looks new and runs like a champ.

I also just picked up another 99 yesterday with only 42,230 miles on it! It's a spyder and it's for my daughter. I couldn't bring myself to let mine go...hehe. I'll post pics of her soon.

Hehe, you beat me by two years. My car's unregistered though, but in the process of bringing it back to life. :)

Does it count if my son has one now?? Sold the 2g in 03 for the Evo, then sold that, but now I have a VR4.

I've always loves the Shoguns. Most new rims are 'Race Inspired'... Man, I miss some of the '90s style. Well, apart from chrome tails, Combat body kits, and the like.

Glad to see that are still holding onto your car Todd. Once you have it this long, why get rid of it? I get a little nostalgic around the anniversary of my car (July '97). I also count the years until I don't have to do emissions testing anymore (just seven more years).

Exactly Corbin, no reason to get rid of it. It costs almost nothing to insure, it is fun to drive, it has tons of runs on it and just keeps going, it looks great, it well maintained, the interior is practically mint, and to top it off, it is the most fuel efficient car I have even owned. On part of the drive to and from the shootout I have gotten 35-38mpg, one time I hit 40mpg.

More to come with it in the future, it is just a matter of how much I can (and am willing) to spend in time and money.

And John, great find on the spyder!

Seriously, if anyone can find a 2G in superb shape with low miles, don't hesitate, just buy the damn thing. I don't care if you have to park it in your living room, just get it, 2Gs in that condition are rare.
