48398, CHECK ENGINE light won't stay on

The CHECK ENGINE light on my dash doesn't stay on anymore. This light has been on since I bought the car in 2003. When I start the car I see the light come on with the other dash lights but it doesn't stay on like before. It started when I disconnected the battery to replace my broken turn signal stalk and when I connected the battery again it was gone. Normally after a few days of driving around it will come back on. I have been driving around for 2 weeks and it still won't come back on. Please help!

This has to be the first time I've ever heard of anyone complain because their CEI was NOT on!
The good we do, never remembered.
The bad, never forgotten.

Thats what Im sayin! Did you think maybe if your CEL comes on when you turn the key, and shuts off after you start the car, maybe there isnt anything wrong with it at this point in time???

You could always unplug the EGR valve for a day or two. That should make your light come back on.
