46317, Pulling a 2.4 Posted by eclipserstturbo, Mar-20-11 04:08 PM
Well, I spent all of my day today at the junkyard pulling a 2.4l for my swap. I just have one thing to say about that... It was a PITA! I was expecting to spend maybe 2-3 hrs there and be on my merry way. No, no, 6 hrs later with three bolts left, the junkyard closes. I know one thing, after this motor comes out I am never touching another cloud car again. Sorry for the rant, but I had to vent to someone.

I've never had to pull one from a cloud car, but they're not a lot of fun to pull from a 2GNT, either. At least the cloud cars were designed to have that motor in 'em...

Next time you get to the salvage yard, just take a look and see what has to be done. It sucks. Even the anti roll engine mounts, you have to take the center cross member off with the motor attached to it still since you can't get behind the firewall and half the shit is down there. Just takes time, but it's completely different from a 2g.
And hopefully I will never have to pull it out of the 2g when I drop it in. Hopefully.
