45870, What did you do to/for the 2GNT today?

Well, today I actually thought a lot about her. If you've read anything I've posted recently, you should know that I sold her. Although there is nothing I can no longer do with mine, I am certain there are things you can share ... so let the posting begin.

Havent done anything to my 2g in awhile, only thing I've done was moved it my new place, she's sitting next a two car garage. I've been moving this past few weeks, it's why I've been absent lately.
I'm gonna snap a few pictures from the view I see every morning.

One pic added in attachment.

Two things that, suck one have to walk up a hill and second there's No power in the garage.

Well, I don't know if this really counts, but at work I've been sketching out ideas for my car's exterior that will hopefully get done when I'll have the car in for rust/rot removal and paint. If not, I can always modify parts later. I really want the car ready for the Shootout this year (at least the exterior).

I'll try to post them in the next couple of days. I got to get them out of my toolbox. I finally decided I'm going for the two-tone look. I always thought the Eclipse/Talon hybrids looked sexy. I've been toying with different combinations of OEM parts. Plus, I won't need sideskirts that way. :P Never was a big fan of making holes in body panels.

I will stay posted! What colors for the two tone?

Just red with the black top. Nothing flashy. Trying to keep it as OEM as possible.

Are you thinking a high gloss black top?

Yeah, high gloss black top, 2GB Talon spoiler and door mouldings, 97 Eclipse front and back, and possibly some side vents like the ones off the new Subies ( or maybe just one, like the TME Evo). That's the basics, still other little details.

It will be interesting to see the progress. Make sure you keep us updated!

I used mine as a beer coaster and a table. Might cut and weld more today... might not.

Sorry I took a little long to post a sketch of one of my ideas. What do you guys think about shaving the bottom lines of the doors and fender?

My thoughts exactly. Unless you're doing an oil cooler with custom fiberglass ducting or something all you're doing is creating more drag on the car. We have supercar drag coefficients with commuter car costs, don't fuck that up.

I bought the proper size belt for my PS/AC the other day. I'm planning on putting it on this weekend while the weather is nice.

The vent is going to be functional. No rice. I'm installing an oil cooler once my bodywork is going to be done, since I push my car hard every so often and I live in Georgia. I'd rather get the hole cut out before painting so I won't have to worry about chipped paint. The vent is just an idea, but since I still don't know for sure if I'm staying NA or going turbo, I don't want to install a cooler in the front opening just to relocate it later. Plus, I'd rather get an Evo 6 style vent since it looks alot cleaner.
What is everyone's take on the aftermarket sideskirts and shaved lines on the fender and door? I've been toying with that idea for a while and personally I don't think it look bad, I think it cleans up the side, without making it gaudy.

What did I do to the 2GNT today? Well, I hydrolocked cylinder 3 with fuel. I was trying to start the car and had an injector stick open (lost a mica insulator on the injector driver transistor during some rewiring of the Megasquirt). It doesn't take long for for a 780 cc/min injector to fill a cylinder with fuel. I should just have to suck the remaining gas out of the cylinder and change my oil (the gas will seep down past the rings and dilute my oil). Hopefully, I didn't do any real damage.

Ouch, I had a problem with my injectors sticking open when Terry built me the Peak and Hold board. I never hydrolocked it but I could tell it wasn't going to start so I pulled the plugs out and turn it over with the injector harness unplugged. Hope everything is OK!

I finally got my damn wheel lock key so that I can take the balding summer tires off and throw my winter wheels and tires on. :rolleyes

Lately, I haven't been able to even drive it. There has been so much snow and i've been too busy to deal with the car that it was buried for a little while. It's been cleaned off now, but the new battery I put in it died as it sat in the freezing cold and hasn't run for about 3 weeks. Got a battery charger so I won't have to deal with a dead battery in the winter anymore. It needs a new passenger side radiator fan, not a problem until the weather gets hot though. Thinking of a few suspension mods maybe.

Besides that, after the weather gets a little better it needs an oil change, a thorough look-over just to check that everything maintenance-wise is fine, then when the track opens up again it is time to test out the new computer and finally see how much the stock ECU was holding me back.

Well the snow tires are on the car. Winter is officially over.

Also I picked up new tie rods and a headgasket for Malachi.

I hate you (jealous actually), we were having nice, sunny, 40+ degree weather and no snow/gravel on the ground. Yesterday it snowed four inches and today it snowed another two. Winter sucks!!!! On another note, I just purchased a 3.55 trans with a Quaife lsd, a 2.4 shortblock, and a set of Ksport coilovers. All courtesy of 2gnt members! Thanks to all!

I was being sarcastic. I survived driving around with bald low profile tires through the worst weather possible, THEN my damn wheel lock key finally came in the mail. Ever since I put the snow tires on it's been in the 50's and clear skies until today, and it's just cold, not really snowing.

I got some much needed repairs done, and now I need another rear wheel bearing. That, and my car has a date with a bodyshop to see how much corrective surgery and cancer treatment she needs.
