Yes, please.

Loremo AG set to debut 2+2 coupe that gets over 150 MPG

German-based Loremo AG is set to debut a 2+2 coupe at the Geneva Auto Show that gets a whopping 157 MPG.

The $13,000 Loremo LS weighs just 992 lbs and features a two cylinder turbo-diesel engine pumping out a hardly earth shattering 20HP. The mid-engine, RWD coupe gets roughly 157 miles per gallon and has a cruising range of 807 miles. It goes 0-60 in 20 seconds and has a top speed of 99 MPH.

A more powerful $17,800 Leromo GT will also be available. It weighs in slightly more at 1,036 lbs and features a 3 cylinder turbo-diesel with 50 HP. It gets 87 miles per gallon, has a cruising range of 497 miles, goes 0-60 in 9 seconds and tops out at 137 MPH.

Both will come standard with airbags, radio and particle filter. Options will include a dashboard computer, A/C, MP3 player, navigation system, and leather.

I would pimp that. I would pimp that all the way to the bank. I do about 1000 miles a month on Daisy. If I drove the living piss out of the top-of-the-line model and got 80mpg, I would need 12.5G of gas per month. Daisy's light doesn't come on before 13.9.

Awesome. I wonder what kind of displacement those things have. Replace the stock turbo with something like a GT15 and you'd still get better than 50mpg, I bet. 0-60 in 6 seconds might be possible.

Anyways...

When I first read this sentence i thought the dashboard was one option and the computer another.

Light, turbo, RWD, I smell a new drift machine, lol

The 150mpg may be well worth the half-hour quarter mile time. I've been putting 400 miles on my car a week.

some initial thoughts:
-Wow I'd actually consider buying a german car for the first time in my life if that came out. (it'd have to lose the chrome though.)
-that's pimp compared to all the prius and civic hybrids out there.
-900+lbs that's like as much as a giant tortoise.
-I don't really see a difference between a 10second 0-60 and a 20second 0-60, it's still slow.
-I like the EL film taillights :P

That's exactly what I was thinking. It'll be the first thing street legal that is more dangerous than a motorcycle in a collision. lol

that's really cool, I think the front bumper should come all the way down though, and yea lose the chrome. Definitely be a fun little drift car haha

so is this just a concept or do you think they'll actually make them

edit: just looked on their site, supposedly they come out in 2009, think they'll come out in the US?

Its diesel jackass. no naws and injectors will cost upwards around 500 for 3. Cant just bolt on any turbo either since diesels dont use throttle bodies.

Or, install a small propane tank and have some hardware to control the flow. Propane : diesel :: nitrous : gasoline

Even if this car is legit and it's not some vaporware ploy, I doubt it will ever be available in the states. The word "diesel" turns a lot of people off, especially in Taxachusetts where you cannot sell new diesel cars, and importing a used one from another state is extremely difficult due to regulations placed by the Fascist Ministry of Motor Vehicles in this state.

A 20 hp drift machine??? Yeah maybe on an ice patch.
I'm sure those 0-60 times were also just with a driver. Add a passenger and the number probably triples.
I vote: :thumbsdown
