44181, Picked up a new project

The Porsche fairy paid me a visit :D
I snagged this 1974 Porsche 914 rolling chassis for the wonderful price of FREE! I plan to turn it into a nice, fun vintage racer.
Here it is on the trailer heading home.
A few pics out in the rain at home. The ghey whale tail spoiler is going straight in the trash.
There appears to be something missing here...
Current plans are to make a nice light racer with a 2.0l type IV engine. I haven't decided if I'm going with carbs or fuel injection. If I do go FI, I'm seriously thinking of running Megasquirt so that I can enjoy better cams and possibly ITB's that are made from gutted carbs.
Paint wise I think it'll join the family racecar theme of striped stinging insects. Possibly a green hornet. I might even name it Kato.

Nice! Put one of those in a Kharmann Ghia I had at one time. Made the car a Porsche killer, lol.

Nah, I don't really care much for auto-X. Ever since I got on a real track and setup a beautiful pass I just can't get into cone dodging.
I took a closer look at the car yesterday. I'm gonna need a lot of sheetmetal x(
The "hellhole" as they call it is in pretty bad shape. Luckily it's all stuff that is available.
I'm gonna be a DAMN good welder by the time this is all said and done.
