44105, She's back on the road. Posted by 95_ESi_Person, Apr-18-10 08:20 PM
The $350 Eclipse is back on the road as of last Monday.
It was a fun time getting it back up and running. Purchased the car for $350, dead. Had to have the head machined (warped), and blown headgasket. Had to replace all balljoints / control arms up front, all of the exhaust had to be replaced, new tires and brakes, and some goodies.
I remember these cars being fun to drive, but wow! I am not used to being able to corner, or what it is like to feel the road since I have been driving a soft riding SUV for the past few years.
Just a few things to sort out before it is ready for road trips. Belts and UDP.... The alternator belt is shredded (Pulley was out of line and the crank bolt was backing out, pulled it closer to the engine and used more loctite this time)... and I threw the PS belt today. I'm thinking the Ebay UDP's rib pattern is just a hair off. Need to get adjustable upper ball joints to get my alignment just right, and the cam bolt for the right rear is frozen, need to get that freed up to get the alignment correct.
