Coast to coast as it says. I did a quick online quote through the big 3 and came up with the below results. Carrier quotes are for all 4 wheels off the ground (for the RS obviously). Uhaul says their 10 foot trucks can tow. Penske says my car is not able to be put on their tow carrier, but I am sure if I called and asked they will adjust. I doubt their carriers are any different than the other two.

Additionally this is just a preliminary quote - I have not tried to see what they can give me for military discount etc.

I have a one bedroom apartment with the biggest items being a queen size bed, full size pull out couch, and dresser about 6'L x 2'D x 4'H.

Anyone have any secrets I can work with to lower my costs? Shipping the RS will cost me about $700 on an open carrier, and I do not really trust a guy with the car.

I know for a fact that a 2g at stock height will not work with U-Haul's standard car dolly. Have you looked at e-move?

Whereabouts in FL are you headed? SOCOM? Ft. Vacation?

Going to Tampa. Where is the clearance problem with the U-Haul dolly? I am planning on using the trailer where all four tires are off the ground, not the single axle dolly.

What is special about e-move? They have a link to U-Haul reservations. Nothing special that I can see. Actually e-move is U-Haul from what I can tell. Their website is out of date, and their contact address is a U-Haul address in Phoenix.

The single axle is the one I was referring to. (I was skimming and missed that in your original post.) I know there are some decent movers that schedule through e-move, cross country starting around a grand, (This was a few years ago, so don't hold me to that.)if driving the Eclipse is an option.

U-haul is your best choice. Renting the truck and car hauler isn't bad, it would be the mileage.

In any case, look me up when you get down here, I'm in Trinity; just outside of Tampa.

If you go Uhaul, call me when the POS they give you breaks down in Phoenix. I'll bring beer.

I went with Penske when I moved to Phoenix. Truck was less than 2yrs old the there was a discount or something. It was almost brand new and super nice. I would rent from them again. Why not pick up 2 steelies from a buddy and use a 2 wheel dolly? Lighter weight saves you gas money all the way.

Just a thought.
