So, my sister in law is grounded from her car because her parents are total assholes and ground her for stupid reasons. She can only drive a certain amount of miles a day. My question is, how can I wire some sort of switch so the car won't keep the mileage, but then turn it back on with ease. I know I could just take out the cluster, but that's a pain. Just want to get back at the "in laws". I'm not sure, but would you lose the speedo's ability as well?

It's a 1999 Dodge Stratus, it's a piece of junk, so it's not like it's even going to be sold to anyone lol.

I wouldn't worry about it. When you get popped, it'll be worse for her.

I would also like to ask the internet how to commit fraud.

Any way, I'm pretty sure I can just wire in a switch to the wire that comes off of the speed sensor correct? She will just lose the use of her speedometer though right? Oh, and yes I know it's against the law, and yes I don't give a crap what anyone thinks about me doing this. The car isn't going to be sold like I said, it isn't even worth selling.

Um, nope, not a troll. I really don't know why this is such a big deal. I could understand if it was a car that was planning to be resold and was in decent shape. The car was bought brand new in the family, and is just being passed to one kid to the next until it dies. The thing is a POS, literally. Also, if you think that there aren't a ton of people here on this very forum that have bought a gauge cluster with different mileage on it, then you are very naive.
