40459, initial preignition

just thought i'd share what brought my motor to its knees about 10 months ago. Finally have the funds/parts/time to put her back together better than ever. Yes this is a JE piston. (8.8:1 CR). This is what happens w/ 20psi on stock ignition timing, 93 octane, hot summer, and thinking your engine is invincible. Learned my lesson. AFR's at full boost were at 11. THought i'd clear that question before it arose.

I would also like to point out that after overheating said 2gnt, you probably shouldnt boost it four times to make some 16yo in Daddy's Cobra feel bad :)

Although it was fun.

Perhaps this go around it is time to play with some water/alcohol injection to help drop those IATs.

since i've learned from this, i'll be probably keeping it at around 15psi tuned. Just too risky. I'm sure during the winter it'll run VERY good.
