Didn't see anyone else post this yet, so here goes. For those of you who don't frequent tuners, this has been an ongoing build which makes for a good read. A 2gnt race car finally gets some dyno time.

Congrats to DSM Zero, it's definitely been a long time coming for him and the rest of the community watching his build

6 times the factory power output. unreal. very good job. Can't imagine what the power'd be at the flywheel. over 7 i bet. damn. that's like over 160 hp per piston

curious if he went with 1/2" head studs... sorry to say, but he'd be a good guenie (sp?) pig if not. see when & if the head lifts

I was just reading some of the things this guy had to say in his thread the other day. Def seems like a cool individual.

Wow is all I can say at the dyno results. I have a lot of respect for that guy...not just becuase of the build but for so many reasons.

Wow that's impressive I am in utter awe I never would have thought a 420a could make that kind of power mad props to him. Absolutely amazing

Ive been following it recently and its good he finally got numbers, alot of people were talking crap until now and still some do. Hell over 600 whp on our motors? Thats good in my book anyday.

I Wonder what it would have done with more boost, unfortunately from the sounds of it we're not going to find out. Can't wait to see his track results though.

Well since Zero hasn't posted up yet (piss me off, he said he would), I'll give a bit of info and speak for him a little bit. This tune is just an inital, conservative tune. Hasn't stretched the AFR's, hasn't pushed the timing, and is only running 30lbs of boost (he says its good for 40lbs). He is playing this right. He has the tune to go out and hit the track. On a build like this, there is no reason to sit on the dyno and become a dyno queen (unlike many of our Honda friends, lol).

He should (and soon will) go out to the track to shake the car down, tune in suspension etc, find the soft spots, figure the launch, find the shift points and get some seat time. IMO, the correct way to do it.

He will get his times and then go back to the dyno and work his way up. EDITTED IN FOR MISUNDERSTANDING: For some reason I thought he was running an BW374 (I don't know where or why I got that info) but with the turbo he is using I'm taking back the 800whp comment. But should be over 700whp . My sincere apologies But it is a progression (as it has been from the beginning of his build about 3 years ago).

I imagine that this year the Hahn record should fall (if not by Zero, then there are a couple of others that are just about ready). So this can make for an interesting year for the 420a.

Oh yeah, for the record, there was no signs of head lifting. He was using ARP 2000's.

How do you build so much boost at near-idle RPMs with such a BIG turbo? That's what I want to know :) Is it all in the design of that turbo mani?

Yea that manifold is bad to the bone at 3,000 rpm i already had 5psi

The car makes about 15hp per psi from what we could figure out with all the math. Sooo needlees to say we sould be over 700hp with just a little bit more boost.

Like bullet mentioned above all we did was make a nice base map and add boost we did not add any timming at all.

My slicks will be here on friday and there 26x13x10 mt on a 8 pound bogart 5 star pro. so on the 13 inch rim i should have plenty of side wall

Yes the turbo manifold has alot alot to do with everything the long tube mani dose not hurt at all because the a/r on the turbo is .85ar
So the exrta room in the header acts like a bigger a/r

Also Jeff is the guy at PFI who made this turbo mani he really nailed the collector very good it keeps the velocity of the exhaust pulses high to spool the turbo faster

Actually, yes you can. Go step up from the forged parts you have and its very possible you can.

Planning is easy but saving the dough for it is the hardest part.

Why are you running down at Pueblo? Do you get some strange kicks out of dragging your car all over the state? It's a ~2+ hour drive to Pueblo and last we talked your car was up in Ft.Collins, almost another 2 hour drive from where you're at THE OTHER WAY.
(All drive times are based on driving at or slightly below the posted limit)

You're a little crazy, but then again you are pushing 600+ ponies out of a 2gnt.

im running in pueblo cause there is test and tune there on saturdays...and bandimere dose not offer that.
