Posted by EclipseTenzoR, Feb-25-06 02:09 PM
I was on the 3si site because 3000gts just facinate me, anywho I noticed some people have things in their sig where it goes your car is xxxx of xxxx. Your car was built on xxx and was xxx of a certain made.. And there are xxx identical to yours. What generates that and is there anyway we can get information like that?

i dunno, im sure you could google for the production records..or call up your local satan and have them connect you to someone who could look it up. its more or less something for rare optioned, limited production, or more exotic cars. its esp popular with the old cars, but im pretty sure eveyrone keeps those records. i could understand for some 3kgt's a bit..like the vr4's and whatnot..just cuz they are kinda rarish. on an eclipse eh..wouldent really matter. old classic cars, rare cars, exotics..all that would be interesting to know. but yeah, contact a dealer or try searching online somewhere.

It is pretty neat but I would deffintley agree on it not being much of a point for Eclipses. I can understand it for 3000gts though, considering the price tag on those things new, talking about the vr4 of course. Awesome cars something to consider down the road because they produce so much more power I could ever hope to achieve with my eclipse.

The nissan 300ZX guys are really big on that too... they have the same type of calculator available for their cars as well. I mostly just think they have delusions that their cars are collectible already, this is old hat for muscle car guys to be able to read those kinds of numbers just off the top of their head.
